The ICRE-R Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the
lives of students at the
Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education-Roosevelt
(ICRE-R). ICRE-R is a state-run residential facility for children and young adults
up to age 21 with severe physical disabilities and/or other health impairments. The
ICRE-R Foundation was initially "created" almost 20 years ago by dedicated and
caring staff, as well as people in the general public. The Foundation and the
school have gone through various name changes in the past.
The purpose of the Foundation is to increase awareness of the school and raise
funds for activities or needs that are not covered by the state budget, individual
or private insurance, or students' families. Its purpose is to act as the "funder
of last resort."
MISSION: The mission of the ICRE-R Foundation is to assist wherever
necessary in preparing young people with severe physical disabilities for a
successful adult life.
